Dear Members and Applicants:
Did You Know? When a newborn needs a transfusion, the blood given cannot have been donated more than 48 hours prior. Giving blood is a simple way to help our family, friends, and neighbors. In our New York/New Jersey area, we need close to 2,000 units of blood every day to help patients. Donating blood can enable a premature baby to live, a burn victim to survive, and a cancer patient to be treated.
Please join us: YMWREA Blood Drive Thursday, June 28th 9AM to 3PM One Grand Central Place (60 E 42nd Street), 16th floor, suite 1650.
Please be sure to bring a picture ID or your donor card and to eat before donating.
All donors must weigh at least 110 lbs., feeling well, and all tattoos must be older than 12 months (unless done in New Jersey).
If you have questions on medical eligibility, please call 1-800-688-0900.
Volunteers are needed to staff the event and should also contact Jeremy Schwartz at firstname.lastname@example.org
Juice and cookies will be provided.
Donors must be between the ages of 16 and 76 years old, must present some form of identification, and must eat a meal prior to donating.
Sincerely, Alex Kaskell Secretary YM/WREA of New York, Inc.
