We are pleased to announce the October luncheon will be held on Tuesday, October 8th at 12:00pm at the University Club.
This lunch will include a discussion with Adam Gordon, Managing Partner of Wildflower Ltd. A fourth-generation New Yorker, Gordon has built his career identifying and capitalizing on emerging real estate strategies.
Gordon’s most ambitious effort to date is the recently opened Wildflower Studios, a 775,000 SF vertical village for film production designed by architect Bjarke Ingels and developed in partnership with lifelong New Yorker Robert De Niro. The multi-level Queens campus will combine the collaborative potential of a Hollywood-style studio with the latest in digital production capability.
Gordon was one of the city’s most active self storage developers and Wildflower was early in recognizing that New York City’s warehouse and distribution infrastructure was outdated and unsuitable for modern commercial and consumer trends. The company embarked on a plan to create modern e-commerce warehousing securing the first such lease for Amazon in the city and is now Amazon’s most active logistics New York City developer.
Previous to Wildflower, Gordon achieved success in the single-family townhouse segment of New York’s luxury residential development market. His curiosity and passion extend beyond real estate and include Knights Valley Wagyu, a business he founded in Sonoma County to provide humanely raised, 100% Japanese Wagyu beef to independent Michelin-starred restaurants in California.
Mr. Gordon will be interviewed by YM/WREA board member Christopher Turner who is Managing Director and Partner at Denham Wolf where he specializes in nonprofit brokerage and consultancy. He is a member of YM/WREA where he serves as Chair of the Membership Committee and is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).
Invocation will be given by Jonathan Tootell, our former Chairman from 2015.
