We currently have 2 bikes reserved, which allows for 8-16 riders/team members. If there is interest from more than 16 members in joining our team, we may have the ability to add more bikes to our ride. Our current fundraising goal as a team is $5,000; individuals are expected to fundraise on their own, and YM/WREA as an organization will be chipping in as well.
Brief Summary on Cycle for Survival:
Cycle for Survival is an event hosted annually across the country to fundraise groundbreaking rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). In partnership with Equinox, the Cycle for Survival event is a 4-hour spin class, and on each hour mark you hear inspiring stories shared by current patients, cancer survivors, and the doctors themselves on the advancements in treatment options and innovative research conducted at MSK. About half of all people with cancer have a rare form of the disease and rare cancers include many types you’ve likely heard of, such as leukemia and lymphoma; thyroid, ovarian, brain, and pancreatic cancers; and all pediatric cancers.
We hope you are able to support and participate in our ride on March 6th. 100% of your donation goes directly into MSK labs, where researchers have expertise in more than 400 types of cancer. Funding from Cycle for Survival has led to the FDA approval of new drugs, lifesaving clinical trials, and state-of-the-art DNA sequencers. Further your donation will be allocated within six months after fundraising ends, so not only does Cycle for Survival fund critical research but it also makes sure that donated dollars get into the hands of MSK experts as quickly as possible.
