Workplace Design for the Innovation Economy: “Top trends for how corporations plan, prioritize and program office space today.”

Tom Vecchione is the Director of Workplace Strategy and Headquarters Planning for the New York
office of Gensler, a global design firm. Tom studied architecture and urban planning at Cornell
University. Tom works with top corporations, building owners, and developers to position their real
estate for the innovation economy and millennial generation. Tom leverages research, best practices,
and trends to reshape buildings, workplaces, and districts. His progressive approach to real estate is
informed by a combination of urbanism, lifestyle planning, and brand experience. Tom is currently
working on a diverse range of projects including, Biotech developments in Boston, Pharma
headquarters in New Jersey, Tower repositioning’s in New York and Chicago, and Technology centers in
Oakland and San Francisco. He currently serves on the boards of The Center for an Urban Future, The
New York City Landmarks Preservation Foundation, and Cornell University’s Baker Graduate School of
Real Estate. In his free time, Tom enjoys weekends out of the city swimming, biking, and kayaking at his
beach house.
